Bessho Onsen Area

1400-year-old historical hot spring resort of Bessho Onsen is traditionally called "Sacred Onsen resort blessed by the Sun & the Land." It is located only 30 minutes by local train from Ueda station. Many tourists visit all year round for its excellent quality of hot spring water, as well as for the spiritual and traditional temples and shrines that offer an elegant Japanese feel with real local wind.

Kakeyu Onsen Area

Kakeyu Hot Springs is located in nearly the dead center of Nagano Prefecture, approximately 70 minutes by bus from Ueda Station. Its location grants you easy access to Nagano Prefecture’s famous attractions, such as Ueda and Matsumoto Castles, Karuizawa, and Kamikochi. From the Edo period’s Genroku era, it flourished as a place for hot spring therapy, and the most forgotten item here is the cane. Thanks to the healing hot springs, many people feel better and forget their canes when they leave.

Reisenji Onsen Area

Reisenji Hot Springs are a 30 to 50 minute bus ride from Ueda Station. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, it retains a serene and dignified air. This place exudes simplicity and refinement.

City Center Area

The downtown Ueda area has conveniently located hotels that can be reached on foot from the Hokuriku Shinkansen station, Ueda Station. 18 minutes by shinkansen from Karuizawa Station and 11 minutes by shinkansen from Nagano Station, it is an optimal location for sightseeing in Nagano. The station area has Japanese pubs, restaurants, and convenience stores.

Sugadaira Area

Sugadaira Kogen Snow Resort is approximately 200 km from Tokyo (approx. 3 hr by car/ 2.5 hr by Shinkansen and bus). The trails (base altitude: 1,250 m) are wide and there are 60 trails with plenty of variation for people of all ages and levels. It is a well-known location for rugby training camps, held there because of the cooler weather in the summer.
